Client:
Malmin Korupaja — a Finnish family business with a long history in the jewelry industry.
Task:
Develop a logo for the new Volcano engagement ring collection. Make it minimalistic, but at the same time reflecting the style of jewelry.
Come up with a story, and make a visual storytale that definitely will not go unnoticed. And the prerequisite for the whole plot to take place in the Malmi area of the city of Helsinki, in which the company’s production is located for many decade.
Decision:
The name of the jewelry collection was inscribed in the shape of the ring, so that it was well read, was harmonious and visually equally dense in weight. The shape in which naming is inscribed is not just round, it repeats the shape of the ring (top view), repeats its main features, namely, hewn uneven edges. And also the logo has another interpretation, which can be revealed even more in the corporate style — this is the mouth of the volcano, the very one that is in the name of the collection.
For storytale, several completely different plots were invented. But it was decided to realize exactly this story of the conflict between the brides over the ring from the new Volcano collection.
